Every week brings more and more changes, and we are excited to tell you what we have been up to.
The Project: Once again, for those of you who are new to this blog, we are currently working on a project for Solar City in Nebraska. This is a large scale solar project that aims to supply supplemental energy to the city of South Sioux. Work on this project is expected to be completed at the end of December. Please continue to post any thoughts and questions that you may have in the comments section. Also, do not forget to check out Solar City’s website at http://www.solarcity.com/, where you can learn more about what solar energy can do for you.
What’s Happening Now: We have been hard at work over the last week keeping pace with Solar City as they continue to move right along with the solar panel installation. The field is quickly filling up with panels, and it is a very welcomed site. As we continue to install PV wires and make terminations, we have also started our work on the tracker motors. This is very exciting, as it brings us one step closer to seeing the system in operation.
The weather has caused a minor headache or two, as the rain and snow have led to some muddy conditions, but it’s nothing we haven’t worked through before. We can’t say enough how pleased we have been with our crew for continuing to work hard regardless of the weather conditions.
What to Expect: The big push over the coming week is going to be wiring all of the tracker motors and the inverters. The system needs to be fully tested before it can be put into operation and this needs to be done early enough to allow for any issues to be addressed prior to the project completion date. The system is expected to be online to start off the New Year, so that does not leave us with much time. With only a few short weeks before Christmas is here, we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Keep checking back here for more pictures, announcements, and information. We are excited to be sharing this news with you and can’t wait to show you the construction process as it continues.
