Welcome back! We have some updates since our last post that we are eager to share with you, so let’s get right to it and show you the latest news:
The Project: As we mentioned in our last post, this is SolarCity’s first solar project in Nebraska. It seems that a lot of people are keeping an eye on what solar projects, such as this one, can do for the surrounding areas, so we look forward to seeing what people think about this project. Let us know your thoughts or any questions you might have in the comments section.
What’s Happening Now: There’s already been number of changes since our last post, and we have been very pleased with how smooth the process has been. We are currently in the process of installing the pilings, which provide the structural support for the solar panels.
SolarCity is also spending time educating our employees on how to terminate PV (photovoltaic) wires correctly. This entails cutting and splicing two wires together with a connector. Splicing can often create quality issues if not performed correctly, but by the end of the course, our employees will have earned their certification in PV wire termination and and will be able to perform this work on future projects.
What to Expect: We are keeping our fingers crossed for more of this beautiful weather we have had the last few weeks! While we have been hard at work with installing all of the underground conduits, we are looking forward to our next step in the process, in which we will begin installing the transformers and combiner boxes. This should start within the next week or two.
Keep checking back here for more pictures, announcements and information. We are excited to be sharing the news with you and can’t wait to show you the construction process as it continues.
